Retired IAS officer reveals first salary TCS Mumbai offered him 40 years ago

Retired IAS officer Rohit Kumar Singh revealed his first salary that Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Mumbai had offered him 40 years ago after he graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi (IIT BHU).
Singh, an IAS officer of the 1989 batch, Rajasthan cadre, described his early working days at TCS Mumbai and how a modest pay of Rs 1,300 was considered “princely” at that time in a post on X.
“A little more than 40 years ago, I got my first job at TCS Mumbai through campus recruitment at IIT BHU,” Singh said, adding, “With a princely salary of 1300 Rupees, the ocean view from the 11th Floor of Air India Building at Nariman Point was regal indeed.”
